Guppy Care

Guppies need a minimum of a 5 gallon tank but a larger tank is recommended. You can house up to 4 guppies in a live planted 5 gallon and up to 14 guppies in a live planted 10 gallon doubling the amount of guppies as you double the tank space then on. If your tank is not live planted half the guppy amount is appropriate. We recommend feeding Omega 1, Northfin, and Fluvle brand pellets and flakes. Guppies are omnivores so choose your feed accordingly. Guppies also like frozen and live foods. Guppies do best in live planted aquarium as it offers coverage, and lowers harmful perimeters. Keep your guppies in male female ratios of 1 male to 2-6 females to lower breeding aggression and stress. If you do not want fry keep only male guppies as females can become pregnant and males and females will breed. Females can give birth to as little as 1 fry and rarely, but they can give birth to over over 100 fry. Guppies water temp needs to be 74F-80F. They are very peaceful fish and are a fun colorful addition to your aquarium. Mae sure you properly research cycling your tank before getting any fish.
