Tank size: 1-gallon minimum.
Decorations: Live plants (lots), rocks, and drift wood.
Lighting: 5-10 hours a day. Nothing fancy is needed, just an LED.
Substrate: Sand or bioactive.
Food: Algae, fish food, snail food, crab food, blanched cucumbers, zucchini, squash, green beans, and frozen food.
Lid: Not needed but may be useful to prevent evaporation.
Breeding: They do not need a mate to breed. If you get a few snails or even one, they will breed on their own. They breed and multiply fast.
Color: They come in a variety of brown and tan shades and patterns.
