Do you already have bettas and are looking to improve your care? Are you interested in a new betta and wondering what you will need? You have came to the right place!!

A single betta fish needs a minimum of a 2.5 gallon aquarium, but some recommend a 5-10 gallon minimum. Bettas water temp needs to be between 78-80 degrease F which can be heated with an aquarium heater.

Bettas need to be fed a top quality diet. How to find a good brand of food you may ask? Well, you want t pick a brand with only a few ingredients. Don't buy fish food with a lot of fillers and preservatives. I personally like to feed a mixture of Fluvle bug bites, Northfin pellets, frozen bloodworms and mosquito larvae, and live mosquito larvae. It is best to stay away from freeze dried bloodworms.

Your bettas need a hide to feel secure. Make sure the hide is smooth, your betta can fit in it, turn around in it, and sit on top of it. Full or halved coconut hides work best.

Live plants are best for a betta fish and for live plants you will need a bioactive substrate. I recommend a Fluvle stratum sand mix.

Your betta fish will need a filter. Sponge filers work best.

female betta sororities are very difficult and risky and are only for experts. Male bettas can never be housed together. Female bettas can never be housed with male bettas unless they are certain wild breeds.
